چکیده
While doing some volunteer work recently, I was removing broken sidewalk stones and digging down a few inches to eventually add sand new pavers. surprised find an underground wire from the building feeding lamppost distance away. Fortunately, wasn’t damaged by shovel, but this definitely electrical hazard, it could have resulted in injury. The local codes require be buried 24 (60 cm) or, if protected metal conduit, 6 (15 cm), unprotected only 4 (10 below surface. It Ain’t What You Do (But the Way That You Do It): Will Safety II Transform the Way We Do Patient Safety; Comment on “False Dawns and New Horizons in Patient Safety Research and Practice”

Studying visual illusions is critical to understanding typical visual perception. We investigated whether rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta) and capuchin monkeys (Cebus apella) perceived the Delboeuf illusion in a similar manner as human adults (Homo sapiens). To test this, in Experiment 1, we presented monkeys and humans with a relative discrimination task that required subjects to choose the lar...

We address two long-standing problems in survey research. The first is how to measure concepts that we know how to define well only with reference to examples --freedom, political efficacy, pornography, health, etc. The normal advice methodologists give when hearing “you know it when you see it” is to tell the user to come up with a better, more precise theory, and then measurement will be stra...
